Not sure whether this should go here or in 'Equipment' but whatever:
I write my drum parts in some freebie sequencing program I've got (just because I find it easier than drawing it all in on the 'Piano Roll' screen in Sonar), then export them as MIDI files so I can use them in whatever else I want. Normally, I import the file straight into Sonar on a MIDI track it works fine - so I know the MIDI files are exported correctly.
However if I open a MIDI file in EZ Drummer (with the 'Open Grooves' thing) and drag it onto the Piano Roll, then any bars with no MIDI data on disappear, screwing up my timing - e.g. I'm working on a 16 bar chorus where the 9th bar is empty. When I drag it out of EZ Drummer, the 9th bar is just removed/ignored so I end up with 15 bars and everything goes a bit... jazz. Stupidly it took me about 15 mintues to work out what was wrong as well...
There are loads of ways round it, so it's not really an issue - I'm just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if there's a fix. Thanks in advance!
