Weird latency problem.

Something happened on my PC and i can't figure out what. I have a m-audio 2496 soundcard and until yesterday i used nuendo3 with no problems. I was doing some experiments with pistine space and impulse files and i had no latency problems. I could used it i real time. When i tried to do the same today, though, there was more latency than before and i couldn't play in real time. And the problem isn't with pristine space or nuendo since there's latency even in the uprocessed signal and also in soundforge's record monitor. I tried to set the latency lower from the m-audio delta cotrol panel but there's no change.
Any help would be appreciated...

Have your drivers been switched in nuendo ? You should be using the asio m-audio driver not the standard asio - so i figured it might have swapped itself back somehow?

Check Devices > Device Setup > VST multitrack > <Asio driver>

Yes, it was the first thing i checked... no problem there.

De-frag your hard drive and make sure you have enough free space on your system drive.

Reinstall ASIO drivers (and applications if that doesn't work).

Open Asio Multimedia setup and check the settings there. You can let the computer decide the buffer, maybe that's been tinkered with. I have the same card and it works flawlessly under Nuendo 3. Good luck!

Unfortunately none of your advices worked. I'm going to try a defrag tonight although i'm pretty sure it won't help.
