I've been a longtime fan of the very odd-ball type bands such as Doom from Japan, Sleepytime Gorilla Museum, and anything Buckethead has been associated with.

What are some of your favorites? Any that you can recommend?

Portal is indeed fucking weird. Zeal and Ardor is also pretty weird. A lot of early Akercocke is also kinda weird in some ways.

I take it back. Don't really think I dig Zeal and Ardor. Its great for a first listen, but it gets pretty meh after.

Akercocke is still great though.

I have a lot to discover on my next break at work. Will check some of these out! Especially the guitarless bands, since I'm into shit like that. If you like guitar less bands, Shrüm totally slays. Weird Industrial Sludge/Black Metal band made by the late bassist of Acid Bath

On that note, the new Bolzer record has some of the weirdest vocal lines I've heard in quite some time. So over the top stupid, but good.
