Well i ordered it

digitaldeath,

I'm running Sonar 8.
Personally, I haven't switched to PT. I hate Digi's business practices (forcing you to use their interfaces, purposely crippling their non-HD software, etc), and I realized PT seems to be a huge money pit (for someone like me). Have to buy VST-Wrapper just to run VSTs, have to get the MellowMuse plug for PDC, need Music Production Toolkit if you need more tracks or multi-channel Beat Detective, etc.

Tbh, I forget why I was even considering PT. I think it was a combination of me needing a new interface, and PT8 just coming out. PT8 was exciting to me, so I figured I might as well get a new interface that can run Sonar and PT8. Plus, I think the "industry standard" compatibility hype and being able to advertise that I have PT was sort of a self-justification to make up for all the disadvantages.

That said, I do use PT at school, and I've found editing in PT is pretty cool. Plus, Beat Detective is cool, though honestly, I never quantize drums or need anything like BD for drum editing.
