What 5 albums are you currently playing? Old or New

I just re-read my original post, and it seems like I am contradicting myself, but I am just not communicating it properly.

What I originally ment was unless it is intense concentration (in which case you probably shouldn't be listening to music in the first place), taking 15 seconds to change a cd won't break your concentration and more than other things.

Koichi's comparisons to driving are invalid as it is a completely different situation and different type of concentration.

When I'm working on the PC I'm working. Except when I'm bludging. I'm a programmer, it's what I'm paid to do. At least, I would be paid to do it if my company was making money, but that's beside the point. Yes, taking a break from it would interrupt my concentration, but then that's kinda the point about taking a break. I plan for that, and if I don't feel like doing it then I don't have to do it right now. CD swapping is an unplanned activity. The way my brain works is that I actually need something to block out while I'm thinking about things. If it's too quiet I get bored and can't concentrate at all. If it's got to be really intense then I'll turn the music off for a bit, but I can't concentrate like that for very long.

It's not good for your eyes to stare at a computer screen for too long. If you can't take a wee break every hour when you change CDs or so your eyes will be batshit.

You have background music on when you're sleeping, Jordan? That's as useful as lighting a fire when scuba diving.

People who can't stare at a screen for 10 hours straight are pussies! Pussies I tell you. My only issue is that my neck hurts from supporting my coke-bottom glasses for that long.
