Yah, its the head version. I never enjoyed the tone at all, that's why I got the 5150. Maybe I should give her another try?

Honestly, I thought the 900s particularly were terrible compared to the 800s... Any info I can find on these things? I want to know what I have before I get serious about trading/selling...

edit: yes, the 100W head version. 2100.

Generaly, most of the 900 series suck. Bad.

But the SL-X is a different story. It's all tube, no diode clipping as in the other 900s. Doing a tiny mod to allow for 6L6's does wonders to it, and there are a few other mods that make it scream.
