what are ya listenin at?

yikes, what have you done to deserve that???? - LOL, came across it...Take it ur no fan?

Deicide ruled back in the days....well until once upon the cross.
the Hoffman bros did well by leaving the band after scars of the crucifix. Now Owen is a great guitarist but its obvious that he would have prefered to get back in Cannibal Corpse instead of joining Deicide. And Benton should concentrate on liking motorcycle instead of pretending to play bass. This band has had a steady quality decrease since 1995 and now changing both guitarists almost took out the remants of its former glory.

imo

Well...never heard their earlier stuff, so won't know about this myself.

Listening to Kalmah - Swamplord

I'd say first 3, I like once upon the cross too

although many Deicide fans LOVE serpents of the light, I hated it myself, because starting from their its like they decided that prod quality didnt matter anymore

i agree... some tunes are great on "serpent of the light"... but don't like that fucking guitar sound, for me "deicide", "legion" and "once upon the cross" are a MUST

I listen to a lot of dubstep these days.I really like dubstep cause its so sterile but still so dark and atmospheric.
My fav artists atm:
Joker
Kode9
Darkstar
Burial
Ikonika
King Midas sound

not only the guitars, the drums man, starting from there until In torment in hell, its like Asheim used a brand of drum named ''PEPSI'', endorsed by Lars ''St Anger ftoing ftoing ftoing'' Ulrich

:zombie:

Speaking of the St. Anger snare.. how do Hypocrisy fans feel about the snare sound on Catch 22? Sorry if this has been discussed to death already.. but I haven't hung around this board for long and I find this topic interesting. The snare sound is IMO as terrible as on St Anger.. but it works really well with the new direction they were taking on that album. The re-recorded version doesn't seem to pack as much punch as the original.. Personally, I love the snare sound on Turn the Page.. it just makes the heavy riff that much heavier.

NP: Metallica - Kill 'em All - Phantom Lord!

hummm, I will admit that the snares sound kinds of fit the overall sound of the album, but I NEVER liked that snare sound, in any situation, and in St Anger its lame beyond reason.

but as for catch 22, I like the original better than the remake, why?

because of two reasons

- it was meant to be this way, let it be
- vocals are better and more fitting than the more straight forward DM vocals of the remake.

The original was filled with multi layered vocals like the s/f : a layer of clean and a layer of growls/screams. it was PERFECT for tunes such as Hatred, Destroyed, Seeds....

to be honest, maybe I would have liked the remake more if it would have been released in 2002 as the original, but that aint reality, reality is, catch 22 was released the way it was, with its stenghts and weaknesses, and I would have left it this way.

oh and in the mean time, Apocalypse and 4th dimension are better original than the remakes of Chaos and confusion.

wow, same here men... Catch 22 is what was released in 2002, live in the past is bad for a great band like Hypocrisy

and i hope that that fucking medley Apocalypse-4th Dimension will be in the old way...

Samsies and i also like the original version of The Abyss.

I definitely agree whit the whole Catch 22 thing. Remaking the album was very unnecessary and the new vocals are unfitting compared to the old ones. Same goes with the drums.
