I was going to see The Wicker Man today because the original is also one of my favorite movies EVER, and I suppose I wanted to tortue myself by seeing it remade into shit, by keeping hope that it might be decent at least. But I have heard nothing but bad reviews, even from people not familiar with the original, so I feel I should keep far far away.

Crap, I LOVE the original, I own the DVD and though I didn't think the remake was going to be good I was a little bit hopeful.
Good thing I didn't go see it. Maybe I'll see the Illusionist instead.

Anyway, the first half of the movie is okay, kind of creepy, but it becomes totally retarded about the time Cage's character meets with "Sister Summersisle." A remake of Battle Royale has been greenlit. It has the potential to be good, since the subtitles were quite shoddy in the original, but I'm sure the remake will miss the point.
