What Cover Song Would You Want Testament To Record.....?

I concur about Death, I would say Death's 1000 Eyes :headbang: Knowing that Chuck likes Soilwork maybe they could do a cover of Bulletbeast  a cover of Dark Angel's The Burning Of Sodom would be cool too.

Personally I'd rather see them cover something a little more obscure. Something that would force the band to put their own spin of the music, rather than simply covering another thrash classic.
Maybe something like;
G'nR - It's So Easy, or
Dio - Last In Line
Sabbath - Dirty Women

All given a complete thrash revamp. Now that would be interesting. :)

death, death, death, death, death, death, deathdeath, death, death, death, death, death, deathdeath, death, death, death, death, death, deathdeath, death, death, death, death, death, deathdeath, death, death, death, death, death, deathdeath, death, death, death, death, death, death

Those would kick so much ass...

Metallica - Dyers' Eve
Slayer - Epidemic
Exodus - Bonded by Blood
Destruction - Curse the Gods
Death Angel - Mistress of Pain
Death - 1000 Eyes
Death - Misanthrope
Kreator - Pleasure to Kill
Motorhead - Ace of Spades

On my way to work this morning, I was listening to Pink Floyd, The Wall and I thought how cool would it be if Testament did something off-the-wall like Comfortably Numb? They could speed it up and death it up. What do you think DE?

Hell yeah, Floyd would be great...not a weird stick-to-the-album "tribute" like Shadows Fall, but a reinventing cover.

That St. Anger thing may have been a joke, but that actually has possibilities...I know a guy (was it from this board? I forget) who jammed on a couple of those songs with a friend, played them with more distortion & palm-muting, and added some solos...they sounded a lot better. With Chuck's vocals (not to mention keep Bob Rock the fuck away from the mixing board), those tunes could have real potential.

how about st.anger , now thats a good song. lmao!

Actually... it is! When played like a metal band... I posted on another topic that I jammed this one with a couple of friends and we made it heavy as shit....

Palm-mutting all the way and tight tripplets and mutted notes at the speed of light instead off gay-ass open chords... with a raunchy AND JUSTICE FOR ALL kind of voice :)

Oh... and a drum that isn't aluminium garbage cans!

I know it's on the mellow side, but how about Diary of a Madman? I can hear that cool clean Eric Peterson guitar with loads of chorus effect on the into. Chuck Billy mellow singing, then the song builds up and gets heavy. Very musical song.

Maybe S.A.T.O. off of the same record. A lot of great guitar work from Peterson/Smyth where the leads can trade off. Heavy song.

Great Idea HL............those are the best ones picked so far, that would be so cool...............

Metallica - Dyer's Eve, Battery
Megadeth - Holy Wars... The Punishment Due, Take No Prisoners
Fath No More - Surprise! You're Dead!
Slayer - Angel of Death, Chemical Warfare
Sepultura - Refuse/Resist
Death - Leprosy, Crystal Mountian

metallica - disposable .... just asks for some "ridingthesnakelikeguitarshred" and some serious growl

death angel - seemingly endless time

slayer - threshold

ANYTHING FROM 2nd and 3rd MERCYFUL FATE ALBUMS "DON'T BREAK THE OATH" and "IN THE SHADOWS".

If Testament will decide to cover MF then Chuck should NOT imitate King Diamond's horrible high-pitched vocals and use his natural singing voice instead, just like James Hetfield on 'Mercyful Fate Medley' which kicks so much ass. :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

NP: Metallica - Mercyful Fate :headbang:

Seemingly endless time is a great song by death angel but I honestly don't think it would make a good testament cover... I really can't imagine testament doing ANY death angel song :(

King Diamond's horrible high-pitched vocals? I'm not really sure of what you're talking about...give some instances where he uses the "horrible" vocals.
