What do people think about Zyklon?

They're ok, I guess. Never really gave a fuck about them enough to have a solid opinion.

I know it's weird, but i've never listened to Zyklon. Don't know why, it's like something telling me "don't do it".

there is only 1 zyklon - zyklon-B. the blood must be shed EP is fucking brilliant.

Agreed. I find them really sterile and dull. I can, of course, appreciate their skill - but it would help if they could write a song that can be remembered for longer than the time it takes to play it.

. I haven't heard them but agree with Immo.. from what everyone's description of them is it sounds like they are like Emperor off Equilibrium album...

You were misinformed.

Umm....does ANY death/thrash/black band write lots of songs that are "remembered?"

Seems to me that their sound has a very distinct mood, and it's not to be remembered. Doesn't mean that the music sucks.

An Eclectic Manner
Transcendental War
Disintegrate
Subversive Faith
Skinned and Endangered
Zycloned
Electric Current
Wrenched

I have these songs stuck in my head all too often. And even if most of their songs aren't very memorable, that means they sound fresh on every listen, particularly on World ov Worms.

I used to like their Aeon album a lot, overplayed it, haven't listened to in 3 years, until about a month ago nostalgia got the better of me, so I spun it again. Meh.I hazily recall the debut being much worse. World ov Worms produced a bad first impression during my Aeon fandom days and nothing on it made me eager to give it another shot.

Nay, because the IX Equilibrium album features well-executed, memorable material composed by a real musician.

Songs like Curse You All Men and An Elegy of Icaros are much more memorable than Zyklon's material. IX E is a decent frame of reference for the production and general sound, though. I find there's no spark in Zyklon. Doesn't sound inspired to me.

I agree 100%. Emperor are on a level unreached by most bands. Zyklon is at the higher levels occupied by bands not of the elite.
