So ive been working a lot on my bands music, sitting and spending a lot of time mixing, editing, programming, mastering and everything you could think of!
I was just wondering what you guys think of the entire thing!
my main concern is the vocals, it was recorded with a really cheap mic,its also my first time trying to mix vocals in a song, let me know what you think..

(The link to the songs from Dropbox has got a little bit different mix and mastering processing)

Thanks, Hayden

Cool mix bro, I think you did a good job with the vocals. They sit well in the mix, sound pretty good and aren't too loud or too quiet. One thing that bothers me in the mix, and this might seem like nitpicking, one of the cymbals on the left has a really annoying peak in the highs (sounds like that one superior drummer cymbal). I would suggest automating an EQ band, try deessing it or just simply replace the cymbal in SD2.

Thanks for the advice man, it is Superior Drummer cymbals :) Which left cymbal are you talking about ? (ive used 2 on the left) can you give me a time on a song so i can have a listen please?

I only listened to the first tracks. Pretty awesome, better than most recordings on here. The guitars are a bit dark but I love how that lead guitar (center in the background) sits. The vocals sound fine. The guitars are maybe just a little undergained and the kick could have a bit more power but I think its a good mix all around. Its a catchy chorus too, the accent threw me off a bit though lol

Can u screenshot your vocal plugin chain? It sounds really good

There isnt really a lot going on..!
Rvox
reverb and delay (with automation in some parts)
there is a bit of chorus for the backing vocals and i also made a panning doubling effect with the delay (set one side to 20ms) only for the backing vox though..
umm..chorus is doubled in the song trapped in a lost memory..ALL the screams has been doubled tracked (except for the song The Last Time)..I just thought it sounds cool doubled hah..
obviously there is a little bit of EQ..in my case i boosted the high end a bit, took a bit out of the 300hz - 150hz area..but some mics are brighter then others, some are darker their all different so it wont really matter if i tell youwhat EQ the vocals went through...it depends on the actual vocalist aswell :)

Thanks guys! just wanted to make sure it sounds good to you guys!

Thanks man! really means a lot to me!
What do you suggest i should do to make the kick more powerful ?
And yeah, all our choruses are catchy haha :) thats what we going for !

Thanks a lot :)

Dude that would be awesome to get some details in that lecto tone! It sounds like catharsis s press high?

on the guitar tone ? umm just high pass and low pass at 9khz and 100hz.. also took down the 4khz thats about it really..lecto settings ? let your ears decide, every guitar will sound different!

Awesome that's pretty much how I process Lecto but what did you use for the impulse? Just curious if I was right too ;-)

Edit. Damn auto correct
