I'm actually fucking embarrassed to admit I know most of the history of this.

I believe the song was originally called "Pass The Cootchie," (sp?), which was about passing around a marajuana pipe. When Musical Youth recorded their version, someone wanted a family-friendly version, so it was changed to "Dutchie," another word for a cooking pan.

Proof positive I've wasted my life.
