Ok, i'm so fucking sick of this "Testament suck" mentality that many people have. What the hell is wrong with Testament? I think they are a kickass band, and The Formation Of Damnation is one of my favorite modern thrash albums.

I have never heard anyone say Testament sucks. If someone thinks Testament sucks I would say that their musical taste is in question.Especially their taste in Metal.

Me neither. Actually I think that there has always been a massive undercurrent of respect for Testament, and since Formation came out they've been getting more praise than ever before... In the UK Metal Hammer voted it their album of the year last year. Sure they're not the most well-known band, not quite a household name like Metallica but I've never really seen them being criticised.

yea you really don't hear that much shit about testament.I mean i can't even describe with words how much i love TestAmenT. Damnation is my all time favorite album,Evey single song is it's own masterpiece.

I haven't checked out the metal-archives but I'm wondering if it's like the MTv VH1 specials on Metal where it's made mostly of what should be hard rock? Because that would explain it.The people that like hard rock but think it's metal don't really go in for the heavier bands.Like I said I haven't checked out the site yet.

in my opinion i think it's because there is just better thrash out there (but better is really just a scale of opinion), i'm seeing testament, slayer and megadeth in a few months, and im very excited.
i wont say they suck though, they have a lot of fans and they are well respected, and i dont mind it when someone tosses on a live dvd at a party or something

in all honesty though i'll probably tire of testament pretty quickly, slayer ill tire of after i hear the classics.

testament (imo) don't have as much that stands out or gets in your head as much as some of the other thrash bands, i would easily put testament behind megadeth, slayer, anthrax, sepultura even, not exodus though, theyre over-rated. id say i like toxic holocaust more too, and some of the german thrash, but you can discount those if you like

i spent a lot of time in high school listening to thrash, now i listen to more experimental stuff, but ill always have love for the classics of my youth

I think Testament is what Thrash is supposed to sound like.I could take or leave Slayer. If you've heard 2 Slayer songs you've heard them all.

^lol, other than dave mustaine i cant imagine any thrash band being *that* stuck up

truth about slayer, raining blood, seasons in the abyss, and maybe a couple others are all im interested in
