the whole clark terry experience is an inside joke among me and my jazz friends.

it's not by any means a perfect track, but i think it illustrates that it's possible to get a decent sound with low end gear.

cover of the intro to Freak by silverchair. I apologize for the shitty vocals. Drums were preactically the same as my last clip. Behringer mixer, sm57 on snare, AT vocal mic in kick, and one out in front of the kit.

I dug out my old Tascam cassette 8-track Portastudio a few months back and recorded a little jam with it just for fun. Actually didn't turn out too bad.HERE'S the MP3. No samples (obviously), never touched a DAW. The only thing was, I did have to use 2 external mic pres for kick and snare since the Tascam only has 2. But I used the Tascam's (crappy) pres for the guitars and overheads, and its onboard (quite limited) EQ for the mix.
Also to gain more points on the crappy factor, the front kick head was torn (as you can hear, heh heh).
