What impulse(s) are your favs

Yeah, I really wish we could narrow these down.

From what I've tried, Metaltastic's have been the most 'natural' sounding, even with the slightly excessive fizz. I'll be doing a large impulse shootout soon (almost sick of saying that, haha) so I plan to separate the men from the boys in this regard!

poidabis ENGL impulse, but the regular one, not the hi-input one.

gives me a superb sound with my ENGL special edition.

Gibson LP => ENGL special edition => RME Fireface 400 => ReValver MKIII Mesa Poweramp => ENGL IR

What I'm more curious to know is how many of you are using something like MKIII and have a poweramp loaded as well as going into the impulse module? Essentially running two power sections (1 from MKIII and 1 that is captured in the imulse). So far I have found a more pleasing sound using both a power section and the one in the impulse on a preamp signal over using a preamp signal straight into the impulse module.

Well now that I have an amp with an FX return again (Dual Rec, no less, hehehhehehe), I think I may be your guinea pig Ermin - provided the new tubes I got make it work, anyway! :erk:

I run the jsx like that ,just the pre sounds real good

With an impulse shootout, would you guys adjust the settings to get the best result out of each impulse? It would make sense to do it like that if you are trying to find "the best sounding one", but if you are just looking to compare the difference between impulses then I'd say use the same settings.

I tend to use Guitarhacks, but I find I have to do a shitload of post-EQ, compared to the stock Peavey ones. It's only a little extra work though, and generally sounds a lot better than the Peavey ones.

That's great man! I really look forward to it. Your set of impulses still sounds the most realistic to me out of all the ones I have. I hope Nebula is the key to that last few % of tone.

@Keithtidd: Any chance I can get you to post it? For some reason whenever I try to rename it to .wav and use them in altiverb and SIR 2 it doesn't work.
