What is the BEST METAL INTRO TRACK of all time?

Churchill's Speech - Iron Maiden (Live After Death)
The Hellion - Judas Priest (Screaming for Vengance)
Crystal Ann - Annihilator (Alice In Hell)

Other noteworthy additions would be -

Deliberately Limited Preliminary Prelude Period In Z - Helloween (Better Than Raw)
Induction - Gamma Ray (No World Order)
Into The Lungs Of Hell - Megadeth (So Far, So Good... So What!)
Ophidian - Nevermore (Dreaming Neon Black)
Approaching - Pagans Mind (Celestial Entrance)

SEE?!?!?!?!?

This is exactly what I'm talking about ... you broke the rules! You only got 3, no noteworthy additions.

You fail at life, sir! :heh:

1. Stiletto in the Sand (Jihad) - Shadow Gallery, Tyranny
2. Deus Le Volt! - Angra, Temple of Shadows
3. The Ides of March - Iron Maiden, Killers

Honorable Mention: Shoushiki - Sigh, Ghastly Funeral Theatre

are you people out of your minds? there is clearly one that rises above the rest:

Racer X - Frenzy

Hmm, I'm thinking some of these aren't necessarily metal intro tracks, but they are definitely 'intro' tracks....

1. Dimmu Borgir, "Fear And Wonder" (track #1 on Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia)

R1. Queensryche, "Anarchy-X"
R2. Graveworm, "Dreaded Time" (track #1 on Scourge of Malice)
R3. :p Ayreon, "Welcome To the New Dimension" (track #1 on disk 1 of Into the Electric Castle)

There's no way I could figure out what "THE BEST" intro track is, but regardless of that, I will say the track that popped into my head almost immediately when reading this post is "Deliberately Limited Preliminary Prelude Period In Z", from Helloween's Better Than Raw. One of the things that shapes one's perception of an intro track is how well it segues into the next track, and this combination of classical orchestration and electric guitars works perfectly as a lead-in to "Push", which is quite possibly still the heaviest song Helloween has ever done.

Best
Regalis Apertura by Kamelot- though i could easily switch this with one of the 2 below.

Runner-Ups
1) Huban K'u by Epica
2) Oculus Ex Inferni by Symphony X

--i just can't ignore these 2...
3) To Magic Horizons by Luca Turilli
4) War Of Wrath by Blind Guardian

I'm having trouble wrapping my head around the fact that no one else has mentioned Stiletto in the Sand by Shadow Gallery on Tyranny!!!!!

But some pretty damn good mentions I must say... I'm going to have to listen to all these albums, again.

To Oak Woods Bestowed - Elvenking

1st Runner-Up:

Battle Magic - Bal-Sagoth (just because it somehow makes me laugh every single time)

2nd Runner-Up:

The Ides of March - Iron Maiden

Took the words right outta my mouth!! When I first heard that opening song, I popped the CD out to see if I had the right disc. The contrast between that and "Push", including the song titles, is extraordinary!! I agree with "Push" being the heaviest of all the Helloween songs!!

You guys are all weak (although Crystal Ann is a good choice.) Clearly, the greatest intro of all time is on Realm of Chaos, by the mighty Bolt Thrower:

On countless worlds, the earth shakes
as the forces of chaos strive to gain control.
Whilst they unleash their devastating weaponry
upon their foes, there is no time for peace
Only eternal war...
