What is the Obsidian Conspiracy? I have some theories and they're pretty deep.

You listen to the album in order and there are some pretty crazy things going on. I think the best part is how "What grows upon this rock? (obviously Earth)...Time has stopped" transitions into "Welcome little one." It's like the universe is spinning so fast and then God comes in and sees earth and says, "Woah, wait, what have we got here?" At least that's my take. I don't know, I'm just curious to hear what you guys think. This album has really touched me philosophically, yet I really don't know what Warrel is getting at here. Craziness.

Warrel got shot in the ass with an arrowhead and thinks the government sent aliens to do it.

This is the most cogent theory I have read. I have no reason to believe anything else until I am presented with new and conflicting information. The current evidence and data point into the direction of the government alien hypothesis. There is no need for god as an explanation to this hypothesis.

I was under the impression that The Obsidian Conspiracy is a moniker for all the anti-US government conspiracies floating around. Loose change, Zeitgeist, etc... though I didn't give it much thought and could be dead wrong :P I mean it does have what appears to be the Washington Monument on the cover, all beaten up and destroyed in an apparent post-apocalyptic setting, with the "kids with masks" representing the warring factions (The People, the government)

^ Sure there is some political stuff going on, but what about "She comes in colors"? "Until tomorrow follow the sun." That's some fucking deep shit right there, son. You think about what that means. Colors and waves. God isn't here now but until then, look at the light. I haven't done acid but I'm sure that song makes a lot more sense when you are tripping.

Well John, in all fairness to this forum irregular, WD has had a thing or two to say about God in the past. I don't think it's so far-fetched for someone to assume he's still doing it.

Sorry if I came off as a dick. It's just that any time Warrel mentioned god its been in an anti religious sense, our friend here (to me) seems to be implying that well, there IS such a thing.

But then, he has genius in his user name, and no genius believes in god, I guess I just have a stick up my ass today. My apologies, TC.

Unless he's gone insane. :P

I also want to add that you can be anti-religion yet still believe in God (like me). I believe in God because the world is too complex and it's the only explanation I've found, yet I abhor religion because it drives people mad and keeps their brains in a primitive stupor, leading to effects which threaten the civilization we live in.

Free yourself from the idea that you need to believe in a prime mover, because you're likely doing that out of the fact that you don't have any other reference point.

Being anti-religion but believing in "God" still using that narrow definition is dangerous because your still using what's bad about dogmatic religious thought and missing what's wonderful about religion in essence.

And to think I initially refrained from posting my 'it's all about how God hates black people' idea.

I'm sure there are quite a few people that are born geniuses...naturally extremely gifted aptitudewise... that believe in God. And who is someone to say if they do, that they aren't really a genius?
