I have three hardware ones, but I only use only one of them in a session:
BOSS TU-80 (AA batteries): This is more of an extra tuner and I never use it on a session as the main tuner as it relies on batteries, but it's really good if the guitarist wants to restring his guitar, so I can just loan this tuner so they can get the rough tuning down.
BOSS TU-2 (wallpowered or 9V batteries): This is pretty handy especially if I'm not recording at home (for example when recording at the uni) as you can just put it in your pocket and you're ready to go. Also the multiple tuning modes are really handy and I like how accurate it is. It's also really good as a gig tuner.
Behringer BTR2000 racktuner (wallpowered): It is connected to an extra output of my RME interface so it even isn't in the signalchain and doesn't affect the sound, and I primarily use it when doing demos at home. But I really hate the fact that it's not that accurate on the lower strings, it takes a lot of time for it to get the tuning down especially with bass.
I usually use software tuners, as it shows as closest to the end-source what the tuning will be, but for example at our university there isn't a tuner plugin for some reason so I got the TU-2 because of that.
