What is the tuner of choise in your studio?

Actually I also have one of these, also a very nice tuner. Doesn't get as much use though for the simple reason that it's not as convenient (although it is very good on acoustic guitar where a TU-2 and the DTR-1000 would fail ):

Is there any hardware tuner out that offers a cent readout like the vst plugin Gtune?
And do Korg Racktuners and the Boss tu3 have the same accuracy? I'm not sure how led displays could show that the guitar is +- 1 cent out of tune?

Always got a DI on unless its acoustic, so Gtune or reatune. Normally reatune.

And if its acoustic....gtune or reatune. Normally reatune.

Korg DTR-2000

but i have been considering a Peterson Stroborack tuner for all my setups, tuning and intonation. i like shit dead on or as damn close to dead on as you can get

I have a Korg Pitchblack which I have been using, but I've recently acquired a Peterson Stroboflip(got it for pennies!) which will be getting a lot of love as soon as I get back to tracking guitars and bass :)

GTune here.

(If I recall correctly, Peterson uses the technology from GTune for their Strobosoft tuner, too.)

TU-2 and then ears to double check

If recording high up the neck of the guitar I tune to fretted notes around the area I am playing, for example, if i'm tracking lead overdubs up at 12th fret I tune the guitar by fretting at 12th fret, not always open. Even if I've had my guitar recently set up I find this still helps

You have to intonate your guitar for this purpose. If it's intonated correctly you have the right notes all around the fretboard
