What non-high-gain guitar combo ?

Maybe some of you can help me even though it´s not a metal related topic.
I have a friend playing in a rockabilly band. He plays a Gibson Les Paul Studio with stock pickups. He needs a guitar combo. He is looking towards a Peavey Classic 30 or a Fender hot rod deluxe or a fender blues deluxe. Do you have hands-on experience you can share ? Other suggestions ?

Yes tell him to start listen to metal and go buy a 5150.

Definitely go with the Peavey Classic series.
I had a Classic 30 and a Hot Rod Deluxe. Wish I still had the Peavey.

yeah the Classic 30 is loud as hell...really heavy too but damn its nice sounding.

Fender > Peavey any day. The Blues Deluxe is amazing for Rockabilly, the only other thing I'd suggest is the MESA Lonestar but thats 3-4 times the price.

He is a metal head, actually. He owns an Engl Fireball. That´s pretty much metal right ? haha

The thing is that he has this rock-a-billy project and needs a different amp.
