What Pickups should I buy?

I have an Epiphone Deluxe Les Paul, so clearly the pickups are weak.

I'm really not sure what kind of pickups to get. Advice would be really helpful.

The safe bets are Emg81-85 and Duncan JB.

I haven't played any with Dimarzio apart from the ToneZone which I really liked, but I guess it's not what you're looking for

^ I have both. It really depends on the sound you're going for, if youre going to be palm muting a whole lot, i recommend the emgs, they have a great sound when palm muting, thats why a lot of people love them when playing quick picking similar to at the gates (melodic death/ thrash metal when palm muting the low 6th string).

But if you're going to be playing a different type of metal then i may suggest duncans JB especially if youre going after a heavy metal type sound. I also hear that EMGs have a better live sound but are more difficult to balance in a mix. So it really depends.
