I have a vengance pack that I could send you some samples from to see if you like them

also ive noticed from a little work in FL

taking a stock hihat sample, or snare etc

adding simple/exaggerated reverb and delay...makes it sound a lot better

Another thing I like to do when just fucking around is run my M-Audio Black Box Reloaded unit into my Vox DA-5 (Vox equiv of the Microcube) and throw distortion and effects on it. The Black Box has 100 different drum loops, and it can sound quite awesome through the DA-5. Fun to jam along to on guitar.

I just use what's in Ableton Live Suite 8.0, because I can't afford a dedicated drum program. To be fair for what it is it sounds good.
