My friend and i are in a disagreement of death metal vs southern metal....please listen to this band and tell me where you would classify this band .......either deathmetal or deathmetal with a southern influence....he says deathmetal with a southern vibe...i say classic everyday metal

Southern metal is pretty much in the same category as viking metal and such in that it is not a subgenre in itself but has a certain sound to it.
