What the fuck

I would make a real reply but i know that i'll get some lame flaming from luminous saying how badly wrong i am and how amazingly right he/she/it is. So im just gonna say Emperor own Dimmu, not even giving a reason :p

Are you stupid or just ignorant? Dimmu Borgir's first release "Inn I Evighetens Mørke" came in 1994. Emperor's "Emperor" EP came in 1993 and contained songs that would later be on "In the Nightside Eclipse" which is the album that more or less all "symphonic" black metal derives from, together with things like early Burzum ("Hvis Lyset Tar Oss" came in 1994) and early Satyricon ("Dark Medieval Times", 1993, demos even earlier. I'll bet any amount that early Dimmu listened a lot to early Satyricon.) Dimmu Borgir were of pretty fucking marginal importance, even if the first two albums were good.

(That means Emperor ripped off Dimmu Borgir)

You are talking about a difference of one year. Dimmu released their first release in 1994, but I'm sure they had been rehearsing and playing for months before then, so this is just moot.

And if you have heard early Emperor material, you'd realize it was not symphonic black metal. In fact, I wouldn't call ANY of Emperor's material symphonic black metal, they basically define traditional black metal in their early stages along with Burzum, Darkthrone, and Mayhem. Dimmu were the creators of symphonic black metal.

Emperor released their first release in 1992, but I'm sure they had been rehearsing and playing for months before then, so this is just moot. Please...

Heh, I've heard early Emperor alright. If you consider "For All Tid" "symphonic" but not "In the Nightside Eclipse" there's no point in discussing this further. Dimmu Borgir did nothing that Satyricon or Emperor hadn't done years before except add more synthesizers perhaps. More synthesizers doesn't necessarily equal more "symphonic."

...and... Wait, first you claim that if anyone ripped off anyone, Emperor ripped off Dimmu Borgir (INVENTORS OF SYMPHONIC BLACK METAL!) and then you claim that Emperor weren't ever symphonic black metal? Then what exactly did they rip off from the ever-inventive Dimmu Borgir?

I said that "if" anyone ripped off anyone, it was Emperor ripping off Dimmu. IF. Fucking read moron.

That's enough to discount your post, your complete lack of reading comprehension.

But to further combat your stupidity, the way Dimmu used synthesizers is COMPLETELY different from how Emperor used them, and that's what makes it symphonic black metal. The keyboards were the main instrument in Dimmu's sound, in Emperor the guitars were. That's the difference.

IF someone ripped off anyone, as I would say they have, DB ripped of Emperor. I don't see how you can really say something else with all the evidence pointing against you.

Yes. I didn't misquote you, and I understood perfectly well what you said. Read what I wrote again. Reading comprehension, indeed... Anyway, the initial statement you made implies that there even is a POSSIBILITY that Emperor ripped off Dimmu Borgir. Now you're telling me how incredibly different Dimmu Borgir is from Emperor when earlier you said things like "Dimmu Borgir did that before Emperor did."

So basically, on top of being outright fucking wrong to the point of laughability, you're also entirely incoherent -- AND you choose not to comment all parts of my post but instead say bullshit like "that's enough to discount your post"... Always a sure sign of a weak argumentation.

So why didn't you tell before that when you say "symphonic", you actually mean "keyboard-based"?
