what the hell was the best album of 2005?

At the time I said The Mars Volta - Frances the Mute, but I have grown to hate them utterly. Have not listened to them even once since witnessing the should-be abortion that is their live show. So I can't even tell if I like that album anymore, but I think I do. It's just not yet safe for me to do so with an unbiased ear.

So I'm going with Sunn O))) - Black One. Even non-Sunn fans can enjoy this one, but they won't allow themselves to. Too bad for them.

The cover alone should be reason enough to listen.

She's being neglected, but I can't call her names.

I think eventually I'll be able to love her so once again. I was just so bummed out by their performance, it was like watching a chimp war on the Discovery Channel but with less music theory.

.

FTM was great. The new one sucked horribly.

I'm going to have to go with NAD, possibly Zod as well if that was the Nevermore album I listened to on a car trip last summer.

Anael - On Wings of Mercury
Manilla Road - Gates of Fire
Jotenheim - Jotenheim
Crimson Massacre - Luster of Pandemonium

EDIT: I have a hard time remembering very many...
