Being a former Marine and doing combat patrols in both Iraq and Somalia, I can tell you what I listened to before and after the patrols, ( keep in mind some of the power metal songs listed weren't out yet).... Here's what I listened to:

the Trooper- Maiden (needs no explanation)
Dreams- Van Halen (fast tempo song and good topic to keep your spirits up high)
We Rock- Dio (needs no explanation)
I Rule the Ruins & All We Are- Warlock (great energy songs)
Stay Hungry- Twisted Sister (any of the early stuff is great)
Iron Fist- MotorHead (Lemmy kicks ASS...end of statement)
Get the F#$& Out- Skid Row (other fire team members fav song)
Balls to the Wall- Accept (UDO... what else has to be said)

There were other songs and CD's but these were some favorite's. All the stuff listed by others all seem to be good choices also but this is what we had on our walkmans and boomboxes.

But my all time Favorite War song is one written by none other then CREEPS on this here forum called "Commando TooBad". Hence my screen name...TooBad71. I wonder the connection! Thanks Buddy.
