Yeah, what would your "Nightingale- Greatest Hits collection" consist of? It can only be one disc, with no more than 15 songs.......

Mine would be....

1. Recollection
2. Nightfall Overture
3. The Dreamreader
4. Scarred For Life
5. Drowning In Sadness
6. Alone?
7. Alonely
8. Shadowman
9. Higher Than The Sky
10.Eye For An Eye
11.Deep Inside Of Nowhere
12.Remorse And Regret
13.Revival
14.Thoughts from a stolen soul
15.Falling

Idea thief! Idea thief! ;)

Seriously, my Nightingale best-of would be:

1. Shadowman
2. Still In The Dark
3. Steal The Moon
4. Alonely
5. The Dreamrider
6. So Long (Still I Wonder)
7. Sleep
8. Shadowland Serenade
9. Forever And Never
10. Scarred For Life
11. Remorse And Regret
12. A Lesson In Evil
13. The Glory Days
14. State Of Shock
15. I Return

But a 4-cd box set would be much better :)

I think a "real" greatest hits with the most wanted tracks would be:

Nightfall overture
Some other track from "Breathing" maybe "Lesson" or "Eye for.."
Deep inside of nowhere
Revival
Thoughts from a stolen soul
Steal the moon
Scarred for life
The Game
Remorse and regret
Alonely
Shadowman
and 3 or 4 more tracks from "Alive"

My personal one would be:

Nightfall...
Lesson in Evil
Deep inside of...
Revival
So Long
Scarred for life
The game
Game over
Remorse and regret
I Return
Shadowman
Glory days
Into the light
Eternal

Gah, I knew after I got offline I forgot something. I had "Eternal" right after "Shadowman" ,but took it out and wanted to put it last as a good shoot-off for the album.

Anyway, all of Nightingales work is amazing. I have all their CD's,and people think I am a little off course because I listen to bands like Cannibal Corpse and Bloodbath, then transverse to the softer songs of Opeth (Pretty heavy stuff, but "A Fair Judgement", etc. etc.) and that of the great Nightingale, they think you are nuts. I guess some people just don't have a softer side to them anymore. Gah!

The softer Opeth? Nightingale? Try listening to Axis of Advance and then throwing in a Gentle Giant CD. Or how about Kataklysm to Ben Folds Five?

Anyway, people who are limited to listening to one genre of music are fools, so don't feel weird for listening to a wide range of stuff; it only means that you're into the music for the music, not for the image that it provides. Stay true, be it listening to Kreator or The Coffinshakers.
