What would your stats be in AD&D?

I got it.. 200 IQ gives you an 18. Word up.

Did any one ever use percentle additions to their stats when they played AD&D? Like if you threw a natural 18 you could throw the percentile dice and add that on.. like 18 and 30%. I must have been using expanded rules. But we were young and foolish and cheated a lot on our scores. It was only later that I realized the game is far more interesting if you have a few crappy stats. Most of my friends were just interested in dice throwing hack and slash.

hmm, when i did 200, it gave me 17. lame.

the percentile-strength thing was present in 2nd edition, but not 1st or 3rd. it was horrendous and one of the things that made 2nd edition so attractive to the hack-and-slashers (and we all had our hack-and-slash period, right?). thank god it got SLASHED in 3e.

Yes, we liked stacking our fighters at 18 and 00 and beheading everyone on the first strike. Even better with that evil sword that had beheading properties.. I forget the name of the artifact but someone here will know what I am talking about.

Did you ever have the Artifacts book? That was really cool. That, the Deities and Demigods book and Fiends Folio were my favorites. Especially Fiends Folio, the art in that was just beautiful and the monsters were completely bizarro.

i had the 1st edition Fiend Folio...the 2nd edition monster manual had a 2nd edition of its own that had AWESOME art by tony diterlizzi.

did you mean a vorpal sword? beheads opponents on a really good roll?

xfuhrer - I wish I had all that shit, I sold it all for a song back in the eighties. That shit would be worth $$$. I lived in the same town where the fabled Judge's Guild company resided, they made some original modules that go for major bucks now. They also printed their own manuals, their printer was a little screwed up and I remember the covers being all bumpy.
