It is true I enjoy a very high level of musicianship but I listen to a shitload of 80s thrash/heavy metal and early 90s death metal (both of which aren't really all that technical). I like quo vadis because it appeals to my ears (the same reason that I like say a band like judas priest), get your head out of your ass and understand not everybody feels the exact same way about music that you do

The moral of my story was that you are easily impressed by unimpressive stuff. So what, their drummer can jack himself off playing his drums. I can do that too, probably more tastefully than he does. The reason I even made a comment about the guy is because you were trying to pass him off as something completely original and ungodly talented, which he is not. There's a shit ton of drummers who can do what he does and 5098259825 times better. And you kept getting offended. Why don't you learn to have a civil discussion about shit without getting sand in your clit? I'm not saying your tastes are completely horrible, theres a lot of bands I like that you do too, and I respect your personal music tastes, along with everyone elses. I have no reason to attack whatever you like because I'm sure there's stuff I listen to that most of the losers around here would jump all over me for. But this shit is going back to that Necrophagist vs. Cannibal Corpse argument we had. Yet another predictable wank fast of a tech band, almost completely incapable of writing great, memorable songs. that necrophagist vs cannibal corpse argument?? I don't listen to necro because they are super technical (epitaph is way more technical than onset, and epitaph is complete shit), I like them (well I like onset of putrefaction) because it is highly original, very melodic and brutal at the same time, and is extremely creative and intelligent in its songwriting. I didn't like epitaph because it had awful songwriting (almost like robots playing guitar/drum/bass solo)

different people have different approaches to music, you are acting like I am committing some sort of a terrible crime by enjoying very high level of musicianship

and no I'm not impressed by unimpressive things, I'm impressed by yanic (QV's drummer) because he has phenomenal speed/precision/rhythm/control/complexity with the drumkit, I enjoy the band QV because they play alot of interesting melodies, are very original (there are very few bands that combines death's technical abilities with dark tranquility like melody)

for fuck's sake at least listen to "forever" or "day into night", the first 2 albums by QV. It doesn't even seem like you have heard any of their albums

edit: forever is prolly their best album, it is amazing, the band even uses violin in the songs and the end product is quite beautiful

it is easily one of the most original and creative progressive death metal albums ever

They are very MEH in my opinion. Their riffs and melodies make me want to cringe sometimes because they are so weak and uninspired. Not to mention their drummer ruins every damn song, especially Dream.

Truth. Still I love Elvenefris more for the great songwriiting. It remains one of the few blastbeat-heavy records that I truly love mainly because of the production that doesn't overemphasize the drums. On such an album making the drums domineering in the mix would have proved catastrophical.
