Great way to start out!
My first vinyl was the Monkees - s/t
First cassette was either the Kinks - One for the Road or Pretenders - s/t (can't remember now)
First CD was the Beatles - Magical Mystery Tour
But ... that's not counting Raffi!

first tape - I'm pretty sure it was a Weird Al recording, probbably the food album or something haha

first metal album - hate to say it, but Korn's "Issues". I had to start somewhere haha

First tape = a bunch of kids songs when I was about 4 or 5.
First CD = Something by the offspring in about year 7
First vinyls = I don't actually own any. but for about 2 months i had my friends signed copy of Lateralus.

The very first cd I got for Christmas '97 was Prodigy's Fat of the land. Guess not many started with black metal when they were 9 years old (in this finnish series Rikosraportti (Crime report) they had a special report concerning satan worshippers and they would show Prodigy's Keith Flint in the beginning and play some mediocre goth metal in the background)

i was like 8 years old when i got into wrestling and there were some cool tunes on the wrestlers theme songs so i got my mum and dad to get me a helloween album and metallica kill em all album. But also i wanted the teletubies and micheal jacksons greatest hits at the time too.
