What's in My Player at the moment:

If anyone is into ambient electronica I highly recommend the following:

Between Interval: The Edge of a Fairytale (2009)...Swedish musician/composer Stefan Strand...very hypnotic!!!
Deosil: Beyond This Plane of Existence...meditative electronic grooves from the U.S. (NC native, VA resident)
Maneesh de Moor: Sadhana..."an ethno ambient journey through sound and vision - very global, very ambient, meditative yet pulsating with gentle rhythm" from the native of the Netherlands.

Namaste!

I've been spinning the following newbies:

Stryper - "Murder By Pride" = their most solid disc this side of To Hell With The Devil. Michael Sweet still sounds AMAZING.

Sonata Arctica "The Days of Grays" = a nice return to form after what I thought was a debacle in Unia.

Ace Frehley "Anomaly" = a guilty pleasure for sure.....Ace is back and he told you so!! I'm enjoying this more than I thought I would.

Cheap Trick "The Latest" = I've been a fan forever....they continue to put out great "hard rocking pop rock". Ok, I made that saying up.

I realize my tastes can be different.....I need to pick up some new prog/power metal......

For me:

Alice In Chains - Black Gives Way To Blue
Amesoeurs - Amesoeurs
Mastodon - Crack the Skye
Skyfire - Esoteric
Candlemass- Death Magic Doom
God Dethroned - Passiondale
Paradise Lost - Faith Divides Us - Death Unites Us
The Gathering - the West Pole
Drudkh - Microcosmos
Cage - Depart From Me
3 Inches Of Blood - Here Awaits Thy Doom
Magrudergrind - Magrudergrind
A Place To Bury Strangers- A Place To Bury Strangers
The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart - The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart
Miseration - The Mirroring Shadow
The Few Against Many - Sot
The Devin Townsend Project- Ki

The Skyfire any good? I loved Mind Revolution but was *meh* on Spectral.

Yeah, I'm itching to find out how the new Skyfire is as well...the addition of Andromeda's guitar wizard Johan Reinholdz has me very intrigued!!!

Sonata Arctica "The Days of Grays" = a nice return to form after what I thought was a debacle in Unia.

I have heard mixed things on this.
Though I think the 2 songs on thier My Space sound good.
I need to pick this up.
I never bothered with Unia, as I thought Reckoning Night was a bit of a decline.

Agreed, I really liked this disc...

Sonata Arctica "The Days of Grays" = a nice return to form after what I thought was a debacle in Unia.

Am I the only one that thinks this one is even worse than Unia?? Only good track was the one they did the video for and that at best was a weak SA song. Ah well, everyone's got their taste... music would be boring if we didn't

Evile- Infected Nations: My favorite new thrash band out there.

The biggest disappointment of the year? Brainstorm - Memorial Roots. Holy shit did they steal Lars Ulrich snare drum from the St Anger album? Who the hell mixed and produced this? It sounds like shit, and I can't make it through 1 fucking song. What a shame.
:( I saw a review that mentioned a thin guitar sound, though it said the music was quite good...did the production really ruin the album that much?
