what's the buzz on amplitube 3?

I've got it on pre-order.

Im pretty excited about it, they seem to have learned a lot about modelling between Amplitube2 and Amplitube Fender.

If they expand on that and take it even further it will be awesome.
even if the high-gain sounds turn out to be disappointing, it's a huge package,
there is gonna be some good stuff in there.

Its released some time in the next few days apparently.

Same here - I'm eagerly awaiting the release - any day now.

Amplitube Fender nailed the Fender sound - they definitely have improved on their modeling capabilities and it has me completely sold on Amplitube 3.

You want to see some great Amplitube 3 stuff - check out Dimi's youtube channel - he is a beta user and the NDA has been partially lifted it seems as he is making videos of various things in Amplitube 3.

the 2 mic thing looks like a nice feature; I don't think amplitube 2 had that.

No - that's new. From what I've heard it is possibly even better than GR4's control room, but we'll have to see as I love that feature in GR4.

I have been using Amplitube since the first version so I'm definitely going to get the newest one. I think their clean/crunchy tones are the best out of any amp sim but there is always room for improvement in the high-gain department.

Dimi's newest - clean and hi-gain.

Bah, Dimi sucks for demos because he makes EVERYTHING sound good  (and it's always solos - though those cleans sound pretty great too)

I love dimi's stuff, but almost any modeling prog can do solo. he never does high gain rhythm stuff, so for me it's hard to judge a programm by his playing
EDIT: lol. metaltastic beat me 1 min

So what do you think of this demo?

I like Dimi's playing, but yeah, he really does focus a bit too much on the soloy noodly stuff...

That last clip Jind linked too though... sounds damn good to my ears.

wow sounds really good, its actually funny. Ive had guitar rig 4 with komplete 6 for 2 months and still havent tried it. Mainly because I didnt really like GR3, but apparantly its a huge upgrade.

Dimi's clips sound really good...

Still, I'm going to wait for the demo to see what this thing is like. Theres just too much good free stuff out there. This thing needs to be amazing for me to pay the price they want for it.

The trouble with the free stuff is you're often left with one or two usable tones.
there is a handful of truly awesome free amp sims for sure, but that doesn't giv much versatility.

Amplitube 3 will have over 300 modelled units, if they are all of the brilliant quality shown in dimis clips then it will be a whole world of possibilities.
