its Mount Doom in elvish or whateverthefuck.

That's true
There are peope out there wich think that Amon Amarth was the name of a great swedish hero...for all that people: YOU ARE DAMN WRONG!!!
Olavi said that once in an interview... :tickled:

Reminds ya of other bands with Tolkien titles, without any references to tolkien stuff..ie Gorgoroth, Minas Tirith etc.

@Belgar
No wonder you may thought that... ;)

Scene: Rock Hard Festival 2005, Gelsenkirchen/Germany
Me, standing together with Ted, Olli and Johan S. in the VIP area, while my boyfriend went to the bar to get us some drinks.

Quote (Ted, smiling as a little boy which got a new toy):
"We´re going to get us some booze now."

Then Ted, Olli and Johan S. left the VIP area immediately. I guess they found the booze sooner or later. :dopey:

On the next day we met a very relaxed Johan H. in the VIP area with a fresh beer in his hand. He was still at the festival to party :grin: *this guy rules*while his band colleagues already were at the airport to get their flight back to Stockholm. :grin:

I didn't know the meaning of Amon Amarth but I know another meaning of Amon: the Egyptian god. I like that name very much and if I have a son later on, I'd like to call him Amon.
I think Amon is also a Germanic name because in the film " Schindler's list " the concentration camp leader is called Amon...I was quite upset about it!

hi guys
In fact, i saw in an interview that Amon Amarth name derives from the World of the LOTR,and, for further info, you just have to have a look in your Silmarilion( book accounting for events through first age of middle earth but i think any one of you know this), ( an awesome GREAT SUPER book), and check the glossary of the book , renderig some names and words into the language of the book.
As well, itmust be noted that Summoning band draw its inspiration form the LOTR book ( especially the third age), for when you see the song's name, it's actually plain!!!
as for me, i by far prefer First Age, an era when elvens were much more mighty than Mithrandir( see, Glorfindel killed the Lord Of Balrog, on the peak of Gondolin ( or sthg like that, i don't remember accurately)
