I have listened to MAYH over and over for a couple of months now and I never really thought of it as a great cd. Then for some reason while I was riding home on the bus today and listening to "Karma", I realized how great the song was. Then I just went through every song and they all sounded amazing. It seems like this happens with every cd I get. I listen to a new cd a couple of times and I don't think its that great, and then Im just listening to it one day and I realize how great it is. It especially seems like all of Opeth's albums have hit me out of nowhere with there awesomeness. It's wierd. Anyone else have good clickage stories?

I had that with the first half of Morningrise. Black Rose Immortal and To Bid You Farewell were like "bang",I instantly loved those two,but for some reason didn't listen to Advent,Night And The Silent Water and Nectar enough or just didn't care for them for some reason...then some day that I don't remember anymore they just clicked.
I didn't like Godhead's Lament at all at first either when I only had that one song from Still Life. That probably had to do with the fact that I just hadn't developed my music taste enough to listen to something that heavy. :p So I probably didn't get through the first minute of the song. It's nice to see your music taste develop. On the other hand some bands seem quite shit now that used to be great, but that happens rarely.
Oh and of course the same with Blackwater Park. I didn't like almost any of the cd at first, only Bleak. Then Harvest hit home,I finally paid attention to The Leper Affinity, then The Drapery Falls and now slowly Blackwater Park...I'm sure I'll get there in the end,but that album is a bitch for me. I'm still not done with the latter half of Deliverance either. Maybe it's cause Wreath isn't that good IMO.
Do I like ANY of Opeth's stuff? :p

Oh yeah I almost forgot that the only song from Orchid that I've gotten into is In Mist She Was Standing haha.

And I agree with Kevin,I really haven't had the patience/time/mood to listen to Blackwater Park through that well. Or Deliverance. Or Orchid.

Yeah lots of albums take time to hit me. For example only recently did I realize that Dissection-Storm of the Lights Bane is not merely a good album but a truly great album from start to finish. I struggled to get into BWP and Orchid, the others all "clicked" pritty quick

What I like about Opeth albums is that at every listen there's something new coming up, a little detail, a musical note, I don't know... I always have the feeling that there's always something new about them, and something to discover. That makes all the albums feel as if they had just been released!

Hehe, I remember the orgasmic clickage of MAYH. I was reading the lyrics and The Amen Corner + Demon of the Fall + Credence completely floored me, I had soon fallen in love.
