whats wrong with this short mix?

a short idea i came up with, but im a very beginner at making stuff sound good.

i will start..
* i cannot place the drumkit good in the mix.. i dont know what to do. it just sounds like, too in the background?
* it sounds a bit messy. too slow attack/decay on the guitars, too little compression? any ideas?
* needs some tightening up in guitar/bass

i just want to get good at the whole "getting a good sound" before i start making serious songs, because good sound is a motivation for me in itself to play more.

the guitars need separating
hard pan them L R L80 R80 everyone here will tell you that
The tone is a tad undergained for this sort of style.
use a different tone on one of the guitars to give a better separation

The guitars sound pretty separated to me, actually. Maybe it's just my ears playing tricks on me after a day of editing.

nahh they are after listening on headphones, well panned yes but i still think they cover each other up

its 2 tracks rhythm guitars panned left/right, then 2 tracks of the 'leadguitar', both panned in the middle.
the 2 rythmtracks is sent to a track with voxengo MSED.. so . problem is in a stupid MSED config or the leadguitars?

I'd suggest doing the leads on maybe a different amp or guitar ?
also fuck around with the settings a tad, not too drastically thouhg , i dont wanna hear kerry king jamming with pat metheny
