i like SFSGSW and it makes me sad that the cd has almost no recognition i mean no song from that cd is on their greatest hits

Good post Whiplash.

Hard one for me... SFSGSW is probably their best one for me though Rust in Peace was awesome. Holy Wars is just brilliant.

I actually really enjoyed The System has failed yet most think it was crap.

One thing I always loved about Megadeth was they had their own unique sound and there was an unpredictable nature to their songs that wasn't just regurgitated formula.

I was listening to Peace Sells yesterday on my iPod on the train. I forgot how good an album it is - Devil's Island has such a great driving surging beat to it. Love that song. As for the title track - a classic. That bassline and the lyrics are just brilliant.

peace sells

isn't " in my darkest hour " on there. thats from sfsgsw. great album made with lots of heroin !

yeah rust in peace is my fave, just an absolute classic record from start to finish.....peace sells is awesome too tho

i seem to love all the albums with vic on the sleeve, when he goes missing so does a massive part of megadeth it seems

Peace Sells - just the one song I don't like on it and that's the cover. I've got it on LP, the original and remaster CDs too. Love it.

SFSGSW - good too but I listened to it like everyday for a year when I was 15 so I'm a bit sick of it now.

I find RIP to be over rated though, I only really listen to Holy Wars, Take No Prisoners (BRILLIANT SONG!) and Tornado of Souls. The rest gets a bit boring after the 1 000 000th listen.

Favourite Megadeth songs - My Last Words, Mary Jane and Take No Prisoners.

Youthanasia is reallt good too but I listened to that SO much when I was younger.

Everything does.

Anyway, my favorite is obviously Rust in Peace, it's on of ThePerfect Albums. So Far, So Goo...So What is also very good. Maybe it's the punk influence it has in it, but I always just have to listen the whole album from start to finish.:headbang:

Peace Sells is still sounds as brilliant to me now as it did when I first heard it and I've listened to it more than Rust.

My favourite is probably Rust in Peace, but I really enjoyed Cryptic Writings as well. I prefer their later stuff to their earliest albums.

1: "Rust in peace". Favourite song is "Rust in peace... Polaris"
2: So far, so good, so what... "Liar" is just great.
3: Peace sells, but who´s buying. "My last words" is the best song on this one.

youthanasia has the best album cover ever! Babies! old people! hills!... i fukin' love it!:Spin: I like Victory as well. nothing like a bit of self referencing at the end of an album.:loco:

Countdown all the way.
I can see that, actually. That has to be one of the finest sounding and played recordings I've ever heard. Ashes in Your Mouth? AWESOME. In fact, just today I referenced "Symphony" in one of my classes.

But for me it's Rust, then Peace Sells. 1986, man. I still fucking love that record, cover song and all. Thank you, Headbanger's Ball and Kevin Seal.

I've only just very recently bought the (original) So Far, which I hadn't heard since 1988. Good shit there. Wagener's mix is fucking awful. And Killing is my Business, which I had never heard before, the remaster fucking smokes!! :headbang: The last 2 Megadeth records are starting to sound good to me.

So what do you all think of the remix/remasters? I don't care for Peace Sells or Rust, but what about So Far, So Good? That one really needed it (I curse Michael Wagener's existence). Like it? Is it an improvement? Or stick with the original (as that's how it was, and you can't erase the past)? Is it mastered too loudly, as everything fucking is these days? Opinions, please!
