If you could have one guitar.. What would it be? What woods? What finish? For ultimate tonal quality, versatility and aesthetic quality of course.

I think something like a Fernandes Ravelle Deluxe in See Through Amber, but with a 26,5" scale.
That thing with thick strings and I would be pleased :D

For rhythm :D (but I suck at solos soooo much that I don't need a guitar for that).
For anything more "rock/blues" related, I would love a Nik Huber Krautster.

If I had to pick an existing model it would be the Gibson SG Gothic Morte.
If I could make it custom, it would be a Ltd F350 with the 18v mod but without the floyd rose, the neck pickup, the tone knob and the 3-way-toggle.

mayones body with PRS style headstock, all maple with a walnut top. EMG 81, volume pot, natural oil finish

Too much to choose, but that one is pretty cool

maybe for me it would be something like and ESP in F shape, ebony fretboard, no inlays.
I'd like to try a brasil cedro body as I heared good from it, same for the neck.
EMG81-TW in the bridge, EMG89 in the neck...should work with the cedro, since they say its a cool alternative to mahagony.
No tone, volume per PU with a push/pull for the split.and some fancy wood for the natural finish, but there's too much to choose from...ziricote, walnut, spalted maple, zebrano....
in case its for live use then with a clear finish for more protection, else just oil finish

I already have my dream guitar.
it's an MII that the ESP customshop made specifically for the MusikMesse Frankfurt in 1994 to show off the awesome skills of the ESP custom shop.
I don't think there's ever been a guitar with better tone wood.
it's got a thin bolt on neck and a floyd, but still more sustain and punch than any paula, flamed maple top, see through black cherry.

the finish on it is extremely thin, the guitar resonates like crazy.

it's definitely the best guitar I've ever played...EVER

I started playing guitar when I was 6 years old after seeing the most amazingly beautiful emerald green PRS Custom 24 hanging on the wall at music store. 15 years later and I still haven't bought one!

Coinciently, I had my first boner at age 6.

I'm a 7 stringer, so it's always more difficult for me to find a production model that really fits my criteria. My customised LTD is close, but it's missing a few upgrades here and there.
Generally speaking though it would be a superstrat of sorts, either natural mahogany finish, or matt black with white binding, 7 string, OFR, EMG 81-7 and 60-7, 24 XJ frets, neck thru, reverse headstock, err... that's about it I think. Pretty boring by most people's standards, but that's what I find best suits me for both playing and tone.

A custom shop Fender Telecaster in Surf Green, not to play, just to look at aha. I saw one a couple of months ago and it was by far the most beautiful guitar I have seen.

I've been considering getting a custom 7-string recently, maybe something from Decibel (db1 Javelin) or Mayones. Mahogany body, maple neck and the usuals on top of that, with either a natural wood or flame top finish. I just haven't found a production 7-string that I like enough to buy yet, although I haven't been able to play the Jeff Loomis Schecter signature.

-Mahog body
-Mahog neck-thru
-ebony fret board
-recessed tom bridge
-SD Blackouts, though I'll be changing them to 81-7X/60-7X sometime soon.

for me it would be a fender tele made from ash , maple neck and fretboard , brass 6 peice bridge , the standard set of pickups , grapthech nut , locking tuners, and shaller straplocks .

has to be a lefty aswell

Mine would be a Jackson mahogany archtop contoured Soloist body with quilt maple top. 24 fret maple neck through, reversed headstock the same color as the body and has quilt maple veneer ebony 16" radius fingerboard with abalone ofset dots, Dunlop #6100 frets up to the 20th fret and then #6105 from 21-24. Recessed floating Floyd Rose bridge with peizo elements, single push-pull volume knob (activating the peizo) and three way "tele" switch. Duncan Alnico Pro II in neck and Duncan Custom 5 in bridge. Switching set for: 1) neck humbucker, 2) outside coils of both pickups, 3) bridge humbucker. Available in transparent colors only. Kinda like this:

My ultimate guitar is a Schecter hellraiser v in white, stringthrough TOM bridge, 81-89 pups.

I do have the Blackcherry and black V's already. But im loving the look of the white.

Custom shop Charvel San Dimas, ash body, 1 piece maple neck/fretboard, JB/59, floyd rose with a mega huge brass block set to touch the body and only go down. And it would have to look like this one but with a maple fretboard.

/\Yours reminds me of Brent McCarty's of Brutal Truth - Need To Control era. Think he used a Charvel too.

For downtuned stuff I'd go with any ESP super strat with emg's in it, preferrably no FR. For E or drop D I'd go with a black Gibby LP no pickguard with black hardware. Ebony f/b on either.
