When The Eagle Cries video

Blech. Please make a video for a real song next, instead of a four-minute schmaltzfest of utterly painful proportions. This song makes me want to hurl my guts even worse than "Watching Over Me," and Jon has even less of an excuse for "Eagle" than for that one.
agreed
Watching over me rules though...

I tried yesterday and could not get the video to load either (cable modem also). After hearing the whole album over the weekend, Eagle and Hollow Man are my least favorite songs on there, so I'm not really that upset. My friend said he was able to watch it last night, so I may try again later.

Does anyone know if there is a "plugged" version of When the Eagle Cries? If not, why bother writing "unplugged"?

For the record, Watching Over Me does rule.

It's not a bad video, even tho I am not too kean on some of lyrics specifically "why would they?" - it's pretty damn obvious why they did, that being said none of those 3000 deserved to die.

As for Owens "not looking like a metalhead" who the fuck cares? What the fuck does it matter what he looks like as long as he is good. You don't have to have 6 foot long hair, a band shirt, ripped jeans and combat boots in order to be metalhead. It's what's inside that makes you metalhead or not.

Yeah, the plugged version is on the 2-disc limited edition...the last track on disc one I believe. As for the video, I liked it...thought it was well done.

You don't have to have any of the things that you mentioned,I'm just saying that Jon looks a whole lot more metal next to him. :) Too bad if it bothers you. I don't mind a band looking metal too if they play such music.

I get what your saying. LOL

Yeah seriously we know Tim Owens is metal. But he looks like a pop singer in the video. And Schaffer looks like well... Schaffer with a goatee.

This video shows that iced earth were desperately looking for some new lyrical subjects since there was nothing left to write about (see the horror show childish 8 year old lyrics and titles to see what i mean). But seeing a band that once released a masterpiece like "burnt offerings" singing "they've only made us stronger, the sleeping giant sleeps no longer" -meaning the usa 9/11 makes me sick! I don't care for the fact that they clearly support a political idea (my opinion is:leave the politics to PUNK bands...), but the thing is: the new iced earth albums are recorded for american audiences ONLY! It's just what manowar did with their music (a terrible waste) and there you have it. I never supported such commercial tricks and surelly i won't start doing it now. Seeing a band declaring war (for REAL!)through a heavy metal song on behalf of their country's goverment is definately RIDICULOUS!

Give us a break for fuck's sake!Iced Earth my ass:Smug: There's nothing more than nationalistic propaganda for no-lives people. The crowd still praises this band in Greece, but most of em are 14year olds...until they realise these people are only volunteers of the American Empire...

im sure all of yous heavy Iced Earth-ians think im talking shit,but,yeah...whatever...it would be way too optimistic an expectation that someone could see beyond his fanboy attitude(------>"Don't dare to insult our Gooooods!")

You have lots of good points but about 4/5 of them didn't have much to do with the video...just kinda don't want the thread to become another flame-fest between pro- and anti-war (or pro- and anti-USA) people.

I like the video a lot for some reason now and I wanna see it again. Maybe it's the song, dunno. The whole video fits it well, just shouldn't be taken as seriously as Jon probably takes it.

I like the lyrics on Horror Show. :) Nothing childish about Frankenstein and Dracula. Well,to me.

yea but compare them to the lyrical ORGASM of burnt offerings and you will see what i mean.Frankenstein and Dracula have been OVERUSED and should not be used so damn simply and boring.A dracula-related song could be nice as long as it would be written nicely and with some feeling. The horror show to me is purely a result of the band lacking ideas.anyway everyone has his opinions so i will stop over-expressing mine.cheers.
