Where can you audition for a band?

Hi!! I see a lot of vocalists, or musicians saying that they "auditioned" for a band and they got in.
Question is, where do you find this stuff? Is there a special site for auditions, you upload on youtube, or what?
Cos I want to audition but without succes so far

Google "looking for band to join" and you'll get up a bunch of places to search for what's available.
