Where do you place your cab in your room?

for me, DECOUPLING the cab from the floor is always the first order of business..... whatever will work to stop the fucking cab from resonating through every fucking crevice in the place, giving you shite' results.

How much do you decouple? I've got my cab on its casters but I'm thinkin that's prolly not enough. I've read some dudes throw milk crates Under the cab. Where do you guys stand on this?

I put it on a table, or crates. Basically the least room resonance, the better.

The trick is to have the cab well coupled to something heavy and hard with a lot of mass and won't cause reflections, and then have that something completely de-coupled from the floor.

Milk crates represent! I'm a 38% of the room guy but lately we've been sort of surrounding the can with bass traps, usually one either side of the can around half a foot away, and two maybe 3-4 feet back from the cab. I've just found it helps some nasty 200-300 resonance in our live room.

I'm in two minds about that resonance as it works wonders on snare drums and vocals... Completely fucks guitars though.

I've got to experiment with my cab/foam positioning a little more. And decoupling mo' betta. This is something I'm excited to try out
