I am currently selling my beloved 4 string Fender P-Bass on evilbay. I honestly LOVED that thing, but I really need a 5-string to match my detuned guitars and my 7-string.

Can you guys recommend what you think would be the best buy? I am talking strictly for recording - I NEVER play out, I never play in a band situation, this would be a studio bass only

5 String USA Music Man Stingray HH
or
5 String American Standard Fender P-bass

What say you (and pretend they both cost exactly the same amount of cash..)

Bobby

Spector Euro or Warwick!

Why don't you just try tuning your bass to what your 7's are tuned to, tho...?

5 String USA Music Man Stingray HH

Those Music Man's have such a great playability. IMO Music Man necks rule.

Both Fender and EBMM are pretty over priced for what you get these days.
You'll easily get a Spector bass that will kick the pants off both playability and feature wise for less money than either.
