So, right now i have the cymbals that pop up with the cracky metal kit.....but im not really digging them too much.

whats cymbals you guys use within SSD?

Wheres some good places to boost/cut in the EQ of these SSD cymbals? Im doing the high pass to 500 like slate suggested a while back....but thats all im doing to them.

Thanks

Imo slate cymbals are awful. I don't really think they are that workable. I own SSD and superior 2 and I just think that the superior 2, with it's room mics & ambient mics just give a fuller and more natural sound. You could use the cymbals from s2.0 and the kit from SSD, this is what I did for a while. I would low-pass them around 12/14k to get rid of unwanted hiss. It can really fuck up your master.

I'm going to disagree, here. The cymbals sound a shit load more raw than the drums, but I don't think they're really THAT bad. comp, high pass, high shelf, done

I like the SSD cymbals more but it may because slate sampled zildjian cymbals witch i prefer most of the time instead of sabian like toontrack did
