^This^ is exactly my chain too. I sometimes use Elephant 2 instead of the Sonnox Limiter, as I think it's a bit more aggressive - on less dynamic material it's easier to really push things I find.

Well the -24 means a -24 dB/oct cut, and as I mentioned, it's just a HPF, so the above knob controls the frequency!

My ears must be made from wood, as I don't really find any significative differences between Elephant and L2 (maybe Elephant is little bit more aggressive)... Both add loudness and limit peaks...

I have to admit that it doesn't work with every kind of music, but in most cases everything sounds so much tighter and better with the vw2 on it.

And Erik, to me L2 could get pretty nasty and harsh, and the old disappearing snare trick definitely reared its head on occasion; I find Elephant to be much more transparent!

Event horizon either in clip or in limiter mode just clips anyway, no matter how you set it lol
I haven't really noticed tbh, but I think that's cuz I so rarely work with bass guitar!

It can. It certainly gives you a fair deal more headroom to deal with in many cases. Anything below that tends to be musically useless information.

...

Wow, how is that possible? The differences are staggering in my opinion (in favor of Elephant).

Nice.. I love to FEEL my mixes as much as hear them, but I usually pile on some 60hz. I'm sure there's a lot of information there that isn't needed come to think of it.
