In all seriousness, they're both potentially good, but the first one looks too artificial (the metal finish doesn't help), and the second one definitely needs to have the beveling effect removed, and possibly some work done on the sword/crosses (they look pasted in). If made pure white and touched up, I think the second logo would be better. It has a much more BLACK METAL! vibe to it.

I really, really love the design for the first one. I think it's well designed and interesting to look at. I agree with whoever suggested that maybe it should be hand-drawn though. I think it could definitely be touched up a bit, maybe make it a bit grittier, but overall it's so much better than the new design.

Both say PHOTOSHOP more than anything else. I also think both are quite average, but the second one says average CRAP, the first one average METAL. So unless you're a black metal band, stick to the first.

Actually, believe it or not, the first one was done in AutoCAD. I am not sure what program was used to add texture and color, though.
