Which PSP Plugins?

Am looking into some of these newly upgraded plugins and wanted to know from the Metal guys whcih ones, if any would you recommend that really helped the mix and or master.
If not, then what general eq's/compressors would you recommend?

the mixpack is really nice too! i use the mixsaturator quit a lot on the masterbus (nice saturation + the option to add harmonics in the lows and highs)

this plug does wonders for bass...same on the 2-buss, and probably anything else you feel inclined to slap it on

Vintage warmer 2 is the only one that I back HARD (it's fucking amazing actually). I tried demos of the rest and meh they are all right.

I did not try any of the ones that require an ilok to try.

Am I the only one who thinks the Vintage Warmer is a tad bit overrated?? I think it works well with bass for a good overly compressed grittier sound, and its ok on distorted guitars but I've always thought it really kinda collapsed the stereo image and mix when applied on the 2 bus... The knee setting is pretty hard even at 10 percent... I would imagine it would be pretty killer on a drum bus or room mics to blend in but not soo much as your first compression insert... If anything its good to dirty up some tracks rather than really on it for compressing... Anyone else have mixed feelings about the Vintage Warmer??

Well.

I like it on the snare. Never tried it on a bass track but gonna have to now.

I think it's okay for some "tape" saturation on the 2 buss.

Vintage Warmer is good for me on bass, vocals, sometimes guitars. I'm not too keen on it on the mix buss - far too overpowering IMO. Still worth purchasing though (student discount sweetens the deal).
