White Masks And Nevermore (correlation, Symbolism?)

I was watching the "NEXT IN LINE" video the other night at 2 a.m.(because MTV'S idea of rock is SHIT in my opinion :Examples: MOTH, STROKES, APEX THEORY, 3RD STRIKE, WHITE STRIPES, ETC...) and in my "cranked up" state I noticed the WHITE MASKS in the video and the same, or similiar WHITE MASK(S), on the DEAD HEART IN A DEAD WORLD COVER and C.D. inlay. Is the white mask represenative or symbolic to NEVERMORE or was I overanalyzing and too "arced" up? I think the masks are interesting and thought about getting one tattooed on my arm along with the ones I already have.

I know all about the "comedy & tragedy" THEATER OF PAIN MASKS. Thanks for the tip KOTNO Narrot. I really like the PASSENGER. I too agree with WD'S mask theory. I also think "WE ARE ALL PASSENGERS IN THIS JOURNEY CALLED LIFE". But not all "PASSENGERS" pause to see their mistakes. LOL AND CHEERS.

I don't understand Slipknot either. Their drummer is pretty impressive but hell they have like 2-3 other percussionists. I too feel the're quite annoying but to each his own.

I had to listen to Apex Theory and Bad religion for three straight days OVER and OVER while making a fence my for fiancee's grandmother... Her cousin loves that shit. It was so bad that when he played slipknot I was HAPPY, hahahaha.

NoLordy, I feel for you. At work, I had to listen to Nickelback's newest release whenever it came out over and over when I was feeling in for a guy who was out in one area for about a week. I eventually went back to my original job position and cranked up NEVERMORE, TESTAMENT, MAIDEN, GEEZER, PRIEST, THE ORGANIZATION, SAVATAGE, SLAYER, ETC... I told the guys at the other station if I heard Nickelback one more time I was going to break the damn C.D. andforce them to listen to DEICIDE over and over.

Whenever my friends come over,all they want to play is Nelly,Destiny's Child,Blu Cantrell,Nsync,etc.That's the stuff that is 5X worse the Apex Theory,Nickleback,Andrew WK and Slipknot combined!AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But I am plotting my revenge........I'll put together a compilation CD for them w/ Staind,STP,Kid Rock,Limp Bizkit,etc.Then at the end of the fucker,I'll put on an IMMOLATION song and scare the fuck outta them!!!!!!!!!!!!HELLLLLLLLL YEAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

WD has had pscology traing...and my wife IS a trained psycologist........everyone does wear a mask.........its all psycological....To be something more than you are......you hide behind a mask of beer/whiskey etc to staff back memories.

One hides behind a mask of drugs......

One hides behind a mask of words


SOmetimes these masks are intentional, somtimes, they are not.



ANd on Halloween, the masks are REAL....(i had to throw that in..for a laugh)

ledmag, I have a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and have been a MENTAL HEALTH ASSOCIATE AND PSYCHOLOGIST'S ASSISTANT. Yes, people drink in order to feel more confident and secure and lose their inhibitions. Drinking is a great "mask" or defense mechanism in coping. People with split personality, or multiple personality disorders put on many masks in order to cope with reality or traumatic events that have occured in their lives. I worked for Comprehensive Care in Richmond from April 1994-July 1997 and had my fair share of dealing with Social Services and going to court. I had to go to court in Hazard once because one of the children I "counseled", his father lived there, and I had to testify about reported abuse and neglect. His father threatened me and I laughed at him and the police escorted him out of the court house. Sorry you can't make it to the Down show. Yeah man, its a damn shame that we have had a couple cahnces,,,and missed them.

This guy threatened to BURN my house(he was a child abuser...bad as far as i have heard.you know Gidget cant tell me SHIT...but ppl talk)....i went and found him..he wanted to fight..so as i went to get it on..he ran and came bakc out with BUTCHER KNIFE...I pulled my GUN.......his wife called the cops..then he went to JAIL......He is out now..but he will not even look my way.........he knows better.
