I am, I play lead for a rock band. Kinda unhappy with the kinda music I play...but oh well. Its fun, still.

My band members live an hour and a half away, so they're the ones who usually make up everything...

but this time I get an instrumental to write, woo.

Except I've never written a song before...

i play bass in a recently formed rock band, not heavy enough form y tastes but its so much fun and they are all so commited im gonna stick with it. in fact we're making a recording of our first track on a minidisk at practise tomorrow

Sing about yourselves, stuff that's happened to you. Or pick a random fantasy book, that seems to work for some bands. It seems, though, the hardest part of band members is a vocalist...good singers are rare.

Nah, I just don't have a good memory.

That's another thing I have some trouble with...song structure. I don't write the songs, I don't really get into the songs, so I don't know them too well. And that means I don't know the structure, so sometimes I screw up on the timing for my lead stuff. Bad me.

It's very good...just one problem with it. Where's the guitar solo?

Did you intentionally leave that out? It's..almost..mandatory for a metal song.

My rhythm guitarist/pianist does most of the writing. I want to try my hand at a little bit, but I fear I'm not creative enough :s
