petri lindroos is an amazing guitarist and norther is my 2nd fav band but i dont like his growl too much... alexi's growl before HCDR was kewl, also that guy from ensiferum PWNEZ!! before petri replaced him as frontman

I like to understand what the singer is saying, otherwise why fucking bother?
Petri's growl I like becuase its heavy but Its clear so I can still have an understanding of what hes saying.

Clear singing is definatly more melodic, better for harmonies and really adds to the song, Growls just add more force to a song, but dont really add to the melody IMO, using both like in Ensiferum (Battle song, and Into Battle EG) works very well.

It was the first album by them I heard, a friend brouhgt it over and I was blown away. I really Like His growling voice, its probabyl just me but it has the force of alot of growling but with alot of clarity.

Although The dude from Kataklysm is pretty cool, but I barely ever listen to them, only have 4 songs
