Who hasn't played ProgPower yet?

Morgana Lefay a headliner? Gimme a damn break...

Yeah, I'm a complete fucking moron... haven't you figured that out yet?

Jesus Christ. I'm sorry I even joined this thread. Excuse me for answering Zod's question and offering my picks. I should know better than to offer opinions that differ from the status quo.

Aw come on, dont be so drastic dude, seriously...

All I said is that IMO it makes absolute no sense in considering Morgana Lefay a possible headliner for ProgPower, simply because I dont see them as high as the other headliners ProgPower has had before.

That is what I thought, but then I saw that Glen would book SA as a slot 2 and couldn't believe it.

Wow, I'm shocked that Glen considers Sonata Arctica a 2. I completely disagree with that placement and it is not just because I love their music.

I hate speaking for others, but I would venture to say that everyone has a different assesment when it comes to the order. There is no way Glenn meant that SA would be the second band of the night. By Glenn saying #2, he meant the second headliner of the night, therefore indicating the #1 slot as the headliner for that night. Please correct me if I'm mistaken Glenn.

#1 is the opener and #5 would be the night's headliner. So, unless Glenn mis-spoke, which I don't think he did as I agree with him, Glenn considers SA a #2 band - the 2nd band of the day.

Dude, Glenn did not mis-speak. Here was his post:

"I'll be brief in where I would consider the bands:

Within Temptation- 2, perhaps 1 pending other bands
After Forever- 3
SA- 2
D&W- Hell ain't froze over yet"

Do you honestly think Within Temptation would be the opening band of the show??? He has them as #2, perhaps 1 pending other bands. Obviously WT is headliner caliber. So common sense would tell you that Glenn, at least in this post, is considering #1 as the headliner and #5 as the opener.

Granted this is pointless to argue over as Glenn can obviously clear it up, but it's quite obvious what he meant.

Thank you Glen for clearing that up.

I thought Within Temptation was more popular than an opening, but I am not too familar with them, so I decided just to hype on SA. Although now that I am thinking of it I think I did see a Within Temptation video on German Sat. TV last year.
I guess if I had been thinking clearly I would have concluded what Nightwish said.
Bah, my brain is mushy :)

Dude, chill...no one was arguing. I thought, and was not the only one, look at other posts in this thread, that #1 would be the opener and #5 the headliner. I still gotta say that to me Sonata Arctica is no more than a...um, I guess it would be a #4 slot...but then I'm not a fan...:D

OK, here is where some confusion on the slot #'s of band s may come from...for me anyway. When Therion was confirmed, Zod asked:
I can't tell from the site, are they a 2 or a 4?

Glenn responded:
They are a 4.

Glenn H.
Now, I took that to mean they are playing in the fourth spot on Sat. therefore a #4. In that thread there is confusion concerning the slotting #'s of bands, so I am not a complete imbecile...yet.

I'd like to propose that we adopt Glenn's latest numbering system from now on: headliners are #1 and #2, rounded out by the #3, #4 and #5 bands. It never seemed 'right' to me to call the last band of the night #5 and the "lowly" first band #1.

Can I get an "aa-men" or something? :D

*reads the topic of the thread*

"Who hasn't played ProgPower yet?"

*raises his hand*

Oh! You meant bands people have heard of! Umm, well...
I'm gonna go with "should have" heard of and say...Mirror Black still ;)

If I say Mystic Force, will Glenn be the only one to get the joke? Will he find it funny? Is it even funny? Certainly it's ironic, but maybe I'm just being a total prick. Would he spell it "Misty Forts" on the t-shirt? Would anyone find that funny? These are the things I think about late at night when I ought to be drinking instead.

Who/What the hell is Mystic Force?
A kickass Prog Metal band from a few years back that was based out of Maryland, USA. The band is kind of getting back together, though it's only 2 people from back in the day (at most), though I think that fell through so it's only Keith left...

In my humble opinion, a PP fest with bands that haven't played may be something like this.

Pre-party
FORGOTTEN TALES
POVERTY'S NO CRIME
BLACK MAJESTY

Friday

OUTWORLD(yes they are doing the pre-party this year)
PYRAMAZE
FREEDOM CALL
ROYAL HUNT
MASTERPLAN

Sat

ORDER OF NINE
FREAK KITCHEN
LANFEAR
SONATA ARCTICA
HELLOWEEN

Just my thoughts

That's a ProgPower that I MIGHT stay home from. I don't know if I could handle Freedom Call and Sonata Arctica playing at the same fest... my head would probably cave in from "happy metal" vibes. :)

You know the more i look at it, I think you are right so let's delete Sonata Arctica, bring in DREAM EVIL. Delete Freedom Call and bring in say either BATTLELORE or DRAGONFORCE, would that make it worthwhile to come?????
