Apparently, Benjamin Breeg was, among other things, a writer and a painter who was born in 1939, and mysteriously disappeared from his home in 1978 (see tombstone on cover of Iron Maiden single), never to be seen again. To this day no one knows if he's alive or dead, or knows of his whereabouts.

The website below was set up in recent years by one of his cousins, A. Breeg, after seeing a family picture with an unknown person in it. He learns from another cousin that this unknown person is Benjamin Breeg, and the website was set up to try to gather information of his whereabouts.

Recently, as any one of us would expect, it has been "hit" quite a few times due to the release of the Iron Maiden single, "The Reincarnation of Benjamin Breeg". The hits and numerous emails have intrigued A. Breeg enough to go as far as contacting Maiden's record company in search of any info they can offer. So far, he has been turned away.

But on his very recent trip to France, he was able to view a painting of B. Breeg's that he believes may be the only one in existence. (This is where you want to be sitting down) JUST LOOK at the photo he took of this painting which he just put up on the site today!!!! Do you recognize that face?!?!? I am still shaking.....:err: o_O

Obviously someone in Maiden's camp saw the picture with the astounding resemblance of Eddie and decided to check more on the artist and the rest is as you already told.

Life is stranger than fiction and maybe Derek Riggs alter ego or inspiration is BB :D

What if Maiden created this after coming up with the song?

Ok, so I just checked and it is a hoax:

That article did not contain those first 2 paragraphs when I posted this last night. I was on the phone with a friend and he was on wikipedia at the same time I was. We thought hoax too, but without the first 2 paragraphs, it's a completely different article.

Oh well..........

I knew I should have put that hoax disclaimer at the bottom of the post

I agree. A very cool little way to publicize the album. Rod Smallwood gets points for this one.

Evil? Man dude, I laugh EVERYTIME I look at your signature picture. It just gets funnier and funnier. I like Black metal etc., so I'm not poking fun, and I think you are purposefully being ironic there....but JEEEEESUS that is funny. The guy in the witch hat is my favorite. Who is that?

Oh man. It's kind of like watching the opening to some TV show that's a cross between the Brady Bunch or The Odd Couple, and Black Metal. Wow! I will say this, Evil? extracted the very best 2 or 3 seconds. That little clip may be the funniest metal thing I've ever seen!

The guy in the witch hat reminds me of a muppet in Evil?'s clip.

'The Ballad Of Martha Kent' :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

I have to check those guys...
